Golden Bay

After leaving Able Tasman we headed evern farther north to Golden Bay. Is a very small grouping of towns and very arts and craft esk. We drove up to Collingwood and stayed at a Backpackers (Hostel) which was the first one I have stayed at and I was the best one I have stayed at since. It was run by this older man who made us fresh bread in the morning and had a great view of the town and the bay. Once we got there it also started to rain too. The next morning we went north from Collingwood and went to Warariki Beach which is "the best beach on the south island" but it was raining and windy so sand was everywhere but I had to go see it since I wasn't going to be able to see it in any other kinda weather. Ended up having to walk backwards to the beach to keep sand out of your face but I enjoyed it...sandra did not quite find it to be as great as I did. We did have to walk through a few sheep fields to get to the beach. All the sheep just looked at us and

ran away as you came close to them. Very sheepish of them. (that was bad but I had to say it) After the beach, we found dry clothes and drove to look at Farwell Spit, the long curve of land on the north end of the island. I got out to look at it through in the light rain but sandra was happy staying dry in the car and seeing it from there. After that we headed back to collingwood and went to a little home made chocolate shop and got some fancy chocolates. Then we headed out of Golden Bay and back through Nelson and to the West Coast.

The next place we stayed. Had nice people but seemed kinda rundown. We stayed in the room on the bottem floor next to our car.
