Picture Perfect Cook

It's tall, bright and impressive, it's the mountain of your dreams, the kind you expect to see when when you search "mountain" in Google. And I got him on a particularly fine day, and he was clearly visible even 40 km away, just as soon as I got to the totally turquoise Pukaki lake. What's really weird that in order to get to mount Cook and his snowy neighbors, you don't have to drive up any mountain. The tallest mountain in New-Zealand just starts from a plane, at least on one side. Actually, that's pretty common around here. Flat ground, and then just suddenly going up, really high. Weird.
Well, anyway, about Cook (or Aoraki as they call him today) the pictures really tell the story better. Especially since I was there almost alone, for some reason, no pesky people.
Enjoy.
