We drove, well Brad drove, all morning and we arrived in Milford Sounds in the afternoon. It was another beautiful drive, we couldn't complain about having to drive around as the views were breathtaking absolutely everywhere we went! As soon as we got there brad booked us a boat trip and then a kayaking trip for the next day. The boat trip was that afternoon so we had some lunch and chilled out for a bit as brad was tired from all the driving. We were staying in the only site in Milford sounds as it is a tiny place and most places to stay are a good hour drive away in Te Anau. Before we knew it we had to get to the boat for our trip so rushed down there and, wow, it was stunning! We went through what was called the Fiordland it felt like a big lake in between huge mountains and then it opened up to the sea! It was so beautiful, there were waterfalls everywhere and rainbows too..we even got to see seals! It was a worth while trip and as we got back the sun was setting and the sky was the most stunning burnt orangey red colour which in between all the mountains was breath taking! It was a beautiful afternoon! Unfortunately it turned a bit sour as we realised Brads wallet had fallen out his pocket at either the lodge we were staying at or running from the van to the boat, and someone had stolen it! Not a nice way to end the day really, and knowing someone staying where we were had taken it! So after not a very nice evening we both woke up ridiculously early and had to go on a kayaking trip! I wasn't best pleased at the thought of 3 hours in a kayak I must admit and I think everyone knew it too lol....our guide tried to cheer me up but me in the morning....grumpy, well that's a no go lol. Brad kept quiet haha and we soon got going and I managed to get over my princess sulk and actually quite enjoy it! Now it wasn't my favourite thing but it was pretty good, I tried to kayak as much as I could too but brad did a lot of the work being the strong man of course!! We got to see what we saw the day before but close up and it did look even better I must admit...and the best bit was seeing the fur seals so close up! They were all around us on rocks and playing in the sea....it was amazing!! The 'morning actually flew by and we were back on dry land before I knew it and I definitely felt a lot happier!!! So yes, I will admit brad did good and it was a pretty amazing morning in the end!

We left Milford sound after the trip and headed to Te Anau...it was about an hour and half or so drive and we cheated and booked a motel as brad was pretty ill and sleeping in a freezing cold van would only have made him worse. It was so nice to sleep in a bed again we were the happiest people haha. And we had a beautiful view overlooking the lake and mountains, not a bad place to stay at all!! The next day brad basically stayed in bed as he felt so rough so I got some washing done and got some supplies to hit the road the next day. We managed to get out for dinner and had a nice Italian! The next day we hit the road early morning and headed off to Haast via our favourite little spot Arrow Town for some lunch!

It was a longs day drive so we had to stop for lunch somewhere and had to drive through Arrow Town so it was obviously logical to stop there! We went back to the little restaurant we went to before got some mulled wine and a lovely lunch. We had a walk around, I let myself have a crepe and we were back on the road!! We got to Haast for the evening and literally stayed the night as we wanted to be back on the road and get to Hokitika the next day...so I'll write about that on my next entry.

Love B&K xxxxxxxx
