we were sooo close
This is an amazing town! It a little more touristy but that happens when there is so much going on. Jason, Ryan, Jo, Jordan, Kate and I all took a road trip about 2 hr north of Lincoln to Kaikoura. First day was a little cloudy and glum, but we made the most of it by walking by the water, sitting on a pier playing gee-tar, swinging off the pier (not me but Ryan) trying to catch seagulls, trying to find cheap crayfish (new Zealand form of lobster) same price as lobster too!! We never ended up getting any (sad). But we did go to this little Irish pub out in the middle of a sheep pasture, it was okay, there was a wedding going on, we unsuccessfully tried to get in. But we did end the night with beer on the beach! It was so nice, watching the moon come up…I saw 3 shooting stars b4 they disappeared under the moonlight (Dad they are so cool! The Southern Cross is amazing, and the Milky Way is just a bright as ever)
Saturday was a beautiful day! Got up early for a walk in the tide pools (un-successful as well it

yes that sign says danger, do we ever listen?!
was high tide) but got breakfast at this cute little café overlooking the ocean. Then went out and laid on the beach, read my book, so peaceful. But I think the best part of the day was watching a sheep get sheered! It was so cool, the farmer totally showed us how its done and when it was done, AND there was a new lamb so I got to hold him and feed him, he was 6months old so he wasn’t too small anymore but still light enough to hold. So much fun. Okay I lied; the best part of the day was walking out on these crazy rock formations to a seal colony and getting within a foot of them. They are SOOOOOO adorable, I wanted one so bad. Ride home was uneventful, but now I'm dead tired
Till next time…
