The reason to go to Kaikoura is to see whales and dolphins. We would have gone for the views alone. Camping in blazing sunshine beside the pacific and surrounded by snow capped mountains at the same time! crazy beautiful.

we were lucky enough to see a dolphin
it swam right beside our boat. we were very impressed.

then about 20 more appeared!
chasing our boat and doing flips in to the air! it was amazing!
