We have had our time in the North Island and now we are in Kaikoura in South island. To finish off our North trip, we spent 2 nights in Rotourua having fun in the Spa baths, then we travelled to the Tongeraro National park to do the crossing walk. What an awesome experience, the terrain was moonlike the smells were very sulphurous and the lakes were azure blue, what a blast. From there we went to Wellington for two nights, not a lot to see. Today 23rd Nov we sailed to Picton in South island thro the passage and now we are in Kaikoura waiting to go Whale watching tomorrow morning. We are staying in the Lazy Shag BBH hostel, a really laid back place. Keep you informed on further travels

1st December 2007

Hello from a wet and windy Pembrokeshire - worse weather to come later! Your great adventure all sounds fantastic. Everything you hoped it would be. The views are stunning and the whales and dolphins are always special. We have just returned from a week up with Michael and Kirstie. We paid a visit to the Terracotta Army at the British Museum (think you should go to China on your way home) and King Tut at the O2 arena. All very impressive but I think your way of seeing things is better. We stopped off in Cardiff to see "The Producers" at the WMC and met Richard for a meal afterwards. The show was very funny and well worth seeing. Tomorrow is the Christmas Miscellany in Neyland so will miss you for that this year. We are going to Nant-y-Coy for a Dickensian afternoon/evening later. Gruel and pauper's pie are on the menu. Special message from Rob to Roger - hope you haven't spent all of the £10 spending money that you hoped would last the trip. Special message from Rob to Linda - don't lend him any money as you will never see it again. Much love to all R and V
