On Thursday 16th Di and I flew to Christchurch, met Amy and Jeremy{no kids}, rented a car and drove to Hanmer Springs to celebrate nephew Pauls wedding to Kelly. I hadn't been to Hanmer for a long time so was surprised to see how it has grown. Beautiful area and surroundings. As usual a large contingent of the Phillips family arrived and the greetings, eating and drinking, the telling of tales, and the catch up of what has been happening in every ones life, was loud and boisterous. Very hard on an old man with hearing aids, but so great to see every one and meet some new people as well. Charlotte looks beautiful as flower girl. she really seemed to enjoy herself. this big family. Some of the silly old uncles may be a bit old to dance at the next few weddings as it may be awhile before the remaining nieces and nephews head down the aisle. What a great weekend and a great wedding. We have so much fun getting together and it was just so neat catching up, meeting Kelly's family and a lot of new people. We now have less than 3 weeks until we go away and as I have been in at the old store doing some work I am way behind in preparation, so will have to start sorting things out. Celebrations for the 150th year of Kirkcaldie and Stains starts this coming weekend so I am looking forward to that but unfortunately will be away for most of it. I will catch up again very soon.
