I must apologize for the silence. It's been months since I've updated my travel blog due to the fact that I've stopped traveling and have found myself settled here in Glenorchy. Now I have a fun job, car (Suzie the Suzuki), house with garden and chickens (think all the fresh eggs you could possibly want!), and a wonderful boyfriend. Basically I 'm livin' the good life here in NZ! And the coolest thing happened last month. I felt my first earthquake!!!! It was registered as 6.7 and the house was a rockin' and rollin'! The first big one was awesome and it wasn't until the aftershock a few minutes later that I became a little nervous. But overall it was a fun night!!

So that's the latest from this side of the earth. There's not much to say about my life here that you won't be able to grasp from my photos. This is a remarkable place to live!!!!

The dry grassy hill on the right was used in a Viagra commercial for the USA. Let me know if anyone sees it!

There's a farm where my best mate lives called Midrivers. We had a huge cookoff there where the guys had to kill their own meat and BBQ it for the ladies. The ladies made all the salads and desserts. Fun night!!!

We were drinkin' quite a bit and everyone had a go. Not me though. I was too sober to play with fire balls on chains.

Paradise was an old B&B used in the early 1900's. Now it's a non-profit trust where you can hike or stay overnight at one of the huts (but there's no electricity or running water! only logs and candles!). It's a beautiful place!

Hello from Crested Butte, Colorado
Hi Steph, I'm glad to hear from you. Dart sounds a bit like Crested Butte! Love the pictures! BTW, CB is in western Colorado, in the Rocky mountains, 30 miles from the nearest big town with the hospital and grocery and airport as its highlights. I've been here for about 3 weeks helping your cousin Laura with her new baby, Eva Marie (born 10/15, 5'10oz, 17 1/2" long. Both mother and baby are doing well, although there's "sleepless in CB" to contend with! Uncle Bob flies in today. We'll be back in VA 11/2, hoping to move back to Greenwich in March. Have a good time away. Miss you. Happy Halloween! Auntie M
