Back to Christchurch today, this time taking the inland route with absolutely stunning scenery all the way. Being 'on the go', I didn't feel inclined to stop, but one day I need to take a leisurely drive and get all the great shots.
I conceived an idea on the return trip that it would be a fascinating vagabond-style journey to walk the coastline of New Zealand. I heard later that someone's already done that, but that doesn't mean I couldn't be done again.
So if you were to walk the coastline, would that mean limiting to x meters from the high tide line, so include rock-climbing the cliffs? Maybe one should include kayaking the impassable parts.
(a few days later I was thinking hey - what if one was to walk the coastline of Australia, including rock-climbing the Great Australian Bight - now that would be an achievement!)
Anyway, dreams aside we settled in for a cosy dinner of pasta bake.
