For the third tour of the day, it was up to the top of Christchurch's gondola for some cool views.

Had I known the Crater Rim Walkway existed, I would have planned ahead to hike it for a while. Am sure it lends itself to other photo opportunities.

Coastline

Here, the coastline to the East of the Christchurch city centre is quite visible. A great day for viewing at the top. We were told the conditions at the top yielded about no visibility the day before.

A bit like Colorado there no doubt.

Caldera

The little island you see there in the middle of the body of water that is Lyttleton Harbour, is the "plug" that finished off the last of the eruption that formed this land long ago.

Wish I knew this existed before planning the day. Would have hiked around up here for a couple of hours at least.
