New Zealand Road Trip

Day 8- Thursday 26th April

After getting up, washed, breakfast and packing the car..again!..we left. Weather not bad agin, cloudy with some sun. Nik drove. Lush driving through the Caitlins. (Caitlin's Forest Reserve). Semi- tropical rainforest, winding roads. Niks driving masde sarah feel sick! (and sar doensn't do travel sickness!) Ha ha, no it wasn't really her driving! On way down saw peak of mountain on Stewart Island in the distance. Stopped off at Invercargill to replenish funds! On to Bluff to catch the Ferry to Stewart Island. Bluff is a small port town. Decided not to go to Stewart Island for the small portion of time spent there! Drove to lowest point in NZ South Island. Went to lookout point . Great view for miles around.

Gem drove along scenic road to Manapouri where we stayed in the Possom Lodge beside the Lake. Like Llangrannog again or girl guides ha ha! Took a short walk down to the lake and through the trees. Picturesque , peaks shrouded in cloud!

Shared dorm with two french girls, who didnt really say much- probably a language thing! Fajitas for tea :p !!! Yum! A trek to the toilet from our hut so no midnight pit stops no drinking before bed(soft drinks we mean!)!!
