Up bright an early today infact I got up at 7:30am…this must have been enough sleep for me as I woke up by myself, no alarm or anything, only to my surprise a bloody cat on my bed which I was not impressed with. All in all River Valley lodge….NOT A FAN…
Went downstairs at about 8:20 ready for this awesome adventure, oh by the way the Rangitikei River has grade 5 rapids, infact it has 10 grade 5 rapids, the most is grade 6, this is only for professionals, like the guides only though.…WOW. Now the trip is going to last about 5 ½ hours and In total 3 hours on the water consisting of 12km trip.
IT WAS AMAZING, I fell out only once but we did another jump like yesterday this was about 7m high too and the water was freezing YES!. All I can say is that it was amazing, If not only a little cold…Charmaine didn’t even fall out, all she did was laugh and grin the whole way down, I don’t know how, some of the pictures are definitely coming on here, we had to pay for the pictures but they are really
good…. See if you can spot me and Charmaine in the group photo too?.. I will let the photos take control of this day as the rafting was so good I cant believe that it was as fun and good as It was and we both didn’t realise how much teamwork is actually involved. I really cant describe it at all, if you get the chance, definitely do grade 5 and pay whatever it costs, it was mental.
Once we got back at about 1:00pm we had the chance to have a quick shower…well…rinse to get warm. We then had some lunch and watched our pictures and split the cost of it as it cost per boat, luckily we chose who went in our boat and it was people who we had been friends with over the past 4-5days, everyone kind of gets into little groups really and so it made it even better working as a team.
Off we go to Wellington on a 5 hour bus ride, but we made a stop it a place called Bull…This was the most random place I have ever been, they are so keen on the word bull they use
it on nearly every shop. On the bank wall was bank-a-bull, on the museum was memor-a-bull etc etc, you’ll see the pictures and this what the hell are these people on! Was such a funny place, there was “……….a-bull’s” everywhere. Strange bull people.
Arriving in Wellington immediately we realised that it was a major city. I walked round to the supermarket and got some bits to make for dinner. We then went out as some of the group was going to be separated so we decided to go to our hostel nightclub, iv noticed that every hostel has some sort of club…its awesome. Anyways we said goodbye and partied a bit then went to bed.
