Day 1: Maria, Melissa, and I made it to YHA Wellington hostel. I only remembered to pack the peanut butter and was repeatedly condemned for forgetting the bread. First thing we see when we enter the yha.....free bread!! Our luck is unreal. We went to the grocery store and cooked our own dinner – candy pasta. (It was a bad choice of sauce). Some woman from Arkansas was talking about us in sign language while she was sitting right next to us. How rude! We decided the theme of the week was 90s romance comedies so we watched one and went to bed.

Day 2: We met back up with our group at Te Papa museum. After lunch we had lecture at a school basically on top of a mountain. We found mating bumble bees and later we shopped for wool sweaters. You know, I thought I’d love to be with everyone again. But not so much. You get pretty sick of the same 32 people, especially if one of them (Meghan Rhiel) calls you a “Delta wannabe.” I happen to be friends with 2 sorority girls. Chill out. I don’t even want to be in a sorority. Fish and

chips were for dinner. Another 90s romantic comedy we watched before bed.

Day 3: We went to Mauti Island and did some volunteer work widening a road. On the boat ride home we learned how to blow people up with an i-pad app which some little 13 year old boys taught us. We decided we’d blow up a candid Meghan Rhiel. A 90s movie finished our night.

Day 4: We went to a wind farm and a landfill. The hike among the windmills was pretty with 800 billion cute sheep – there are more sheep in this country than people. We saw the lunar eclipse during the day. We held up 3D glasses toward the sun and it became a bright yellow crested moon shape. The landfill smelled bad. The composting section appeared to be the only successful part of the system. A 90s movie ended the day.
