We camped again even though the nights here are extreemly cold. For some reason all the campsites we stay in have ducks running about. They are very cute but do try to get into your car and eat your food. Spent a quick day in Wellinton and then got the boat to the south island. We plan to travel in the south island for a month and to go back to the north for a week or so.

we went to lots of different vinyards and drank lots and lots of wine. you could do the tour on a bicycle but we thought that could get a bit dangerous by the end of the day and so chose our cool bus.

they became our new fellow wino friends. we all had a good laugh. some took it seriously, but the rest of us just drank carelessly! some wines smelt of feet and tasted of cheese and fish. others were lovely and fruity blends with a hint of oak! ha!
