Recovering from knee op on the deck at home.
Long time, no see. Since my Christmas Blog we have been doing the "normal life" thing of bits and pieces around the house, seeing the kids in Hawkes Bay and enjoying the summer. We are now into Autumn and it is certainly getting cooler in the evenings and mornings.

Mid February, Di had her 2nd knee replaced. This has turned out to be a quicker recovery time than her 1st one , done 6 months ago and she is getting around well and improving every day. Now in early April she is walking really well.

Planning for the Northern Hemisphere trip this year has been pretty much finalised. We head away from New Zealand on the 2nd of July and return to NZ on the 4th of October.

So our plan is to spend our first 4 weeks in England, then early August we are off to Norway to spend 5 weeks with Chris, Hege and the girls. Can't wait. From there, off to Italy on the 9 of September for a bike ride around the heel of Italy. Then off to Portugal. Then back home. By that stage we will probably be pleased to get home.
Nostalgic Concert. Nostalgic Concert. Nostalgic Concert.

Went to a 60's/70's music concert with Garry and Vonnie.

I have been having a bit of trouble with my lap top and so have had everything up dated now . So this blog is to ensure that the new formats are working for me so that I can continue my blogs. Pip/Rod.

I like your summer plans!
I will be walking the Via Francigena pilgrim trial the second half of September. Doubt our paths will cross as you are biking the heal, but if you are in Rome or the Amalfi Cost from 21 to 25 Sep, it would be great to get together for some spaghetti carbonara.

It would be Wonderful to Catch Up.
Unfortuantly we are only passing through Rome Airport on the 9th and 19th September. We were on the Amalfi Coast in July 2005 and would love to be heading there again. Sad to say not this time. If you look at the photo of Di on our deck there is set of tiles on the wall showing Amalfi that Di insisted bringing back in our luggage and mounting here. Our hotel was on the point in the picture. It is a magic place. We both sound as though we are in for a great Italian experience.
