We had a cheap, in fact free, day today. We visited Okere Falls and the Blue and Green lakes of Rotorua, about 30ks from the city itself.

They were all nice, Okere falls was a bit of a trek though, through some heavy bush to see nothing special and the lakes were real busy, it was a Saturday after all and the locals were out in force, it's one of the few places in town that doesn't smell so is very popular.

Fiona and I started this blog in September 2004 when we decided to take a break from our jobs to go tour some of the world with a bag on our back and some money in our pockets. We had an incredible time, seeing some beautiful places and meetings some nice people along the way, we started in San Francisco and our last destination was Bangkok, in between we visited Hawaii, New Zealand, Fiji, Australia, Korea, Japan, China, Vietnam and Laos.
