Kitten #1Kitten #1Kitten #1

bastard
I have just spent an enjoyable hour practicing staff, during which i thought i would play some music. The three five week old kittens i live with (i'll come back to that), however, do not like dub at all and cowered under Alex's rather expensive sofa. Affronted by their reaction i tried speed metal, but this seemed to go down worse and i was probably at this time that the black and white one evacuated her bowls on the cover placed over Alex's rather expensive sofas for that reason. Why was i played Slayer at kittens? Because the little bastards had chewed up my rather expensive and good headphones the previous night rendering them useless. I was unfortunately aware that playing slayer at kittens probably violated the blood pact i went into when i became a vegan so speed metal got turned off and Jack Johnson got turned on
You may gather from my more expansive tone that i am no longer stuffed into an internet cafe watching my cents disappear as i type, but at Alex's
house 'chilling'. Alex doesn't return until next tuesday, so i am here for a little while first. His friend Cherie moved out of the house she shared with her now ex husband and into Alex's house temporarily, bringing with her 3 kittens, 1 cat and 1 dog. From friday to monday i will be attending the Levin Organic and River Festival. Between then and now i am helping Cherie get her house back up to scratch in return for which she is feeding and watering me and lending me her camping equipment over the summer.
I spent the time after i last spoke to you building a track through the bush at Birdlands which was probably the most physically demanding work i have ever done. Four days of digging, axing and pulling out tree stumps (you would be amazed by the level of devastation caused by a small track through forest) is hard, but rewarding work.
Then i hitched to Picton (the very north of the south island) getting a lift with an artist who not only turned out to be the most interesting person i have ever got a hitch with but also asked me to perform some fire spinning at an artists' gathering at the end of February, so that will be awesome. From there i went to Wellington and then onto Levin. I'm gonna be here till next friday when i head north to help set up, then attend 'Kiwi-burn' the New Zealand version of the american festival Burning man, which should be mind-numbingly amazing.
Other news? I could witter on for ever about the suprising beauty of the Bank's peninsula or the fact that baby sloths are so dumb they will attempting to hang from their own limbs, rather than a branches, thus falling inelegantly from the tree (you may want to re-read that) but i can no more be bothered to write it that you can to read it. So i will bid you goodbye, probably until i return from kiwi-burn

Love 'n' that Chris
P.s. almost all my photos are now up at http://s169.photobucket.com/albums/u222/tannhauser21/NZ/ with a link to my fire spinning ones at the top left
p.p.s if you would like to be told when i write one of these things, rather than checking hap-hazardly there's a subscribe button to the left that will hopefully not bomb you with junk mail
