Hello once again!!

We are nearly at the end of our travels in New Zealand and will be sad to say goodbye to our little van but glad to have a bit more space again with hot showers in hostels!!

North Island has been great although not quite as spectacular as south island. We went to the Museum of New Zealand in Wellington, which was really interesting and fun. We got to stand in an earthquake simulation room and saw a collossal squid amongst many other things!
We also saw the biggest lake in New Zealand, Lake Taupo, which looked more like the sea than a lake! Here we also saw the Huka Falls, in which 200,000 litres of water pass through a second, so as you can probably imagine it was a pretty cool sight!
We also saw geothermal sights including bubbling mud pools, which was pretty weird to see! A couple of days ago we dug our own pool in the sand on hot water beach during low tide which filled up with hot water, it was lovely at first but minutes later the water was too hot to even put our toes in!!!

We are near Auckland now and will be dropping the van off in 2 days before having a couple of days staying in Auckland sightseeing before our trip to Australia begins, with our flight to Cairns on Monday!

We here the UK is getting pretty cold and will try to send some good weather over to you!! Thinking of you all, Lots of love Simon and Abi x x x x x x x x

Hey you two its been lovely to read about all your adventures and see the photos, i'm very jealous it makes me want to book tickets asap. Sorry i haven't written sooner just thought you wouldn't be interested in boring old dorset. And thanks for the postcards the rafting one made us all laugh - looks like everyone's got their eyes shut. It seems like your trip is going really fast hope its slower from your end, we're just caught up in school/work routines and time seems to be flying by. Also been trying to find somewhere to live which is quite exciting, have put flat up for sale, but haven't found our idyllic farmstead yet so will keep searching. Take care and safe travels... love you both long time, from a long way off x x x
