nerd.
me at cape reinga, the very top of new zealand! eyup!
Well yesterday we headed up to Kerikeri on the bus, to try our luck with some fruitpicking work. Turns out there isnt any. Not until the middle of april anyway. We weren't too bothered as there are plenty other places that do it, and Kerikeri is a lovely little place. Its filled with orchards and quaint little shops and is scorchio. We stayed at the nicest place called Farm Hostel, it was owned by this german family and only had about twleve rooms. It looked like a little woodcabin, and it had loads of orchards and orange trees and two house dogs who were the most excitable animals ever! They also had a kitten that reminded me of lee! We lounged by the pool in hammocks in the amazing heat, then at night had a bbq which was amazing. Afterwards we roasted marshmallows and had a bottle of wine under the stars, ive never seen so many in my life! The sky was just so vast and panaromic, and also the air was so unpolluted so there was literally millions, it was beautiful! my neck hurts today from looking at them! we got up in the morning and got the
bus back to Paihia at about twleve, then got the kiwi bus back down to auckland. We are staying another night here before we head down to mercury bay, which is apparently like an amazing surf town where you can jump off rocks and do all this cool water stuff and theres some lovely walks. We stay a night there before heading to Rotorua, which is supposed to be the cultural capital of New Zealand. There's loads of maori orientated stuff to do as well as geo-thermal hot mud pools which should be cool! Right well thats about it for now! Ill put some photos up so you can have a look.
mum and dad - got no credit it runs down so quick, ill get some more and call asap.
