Happy New Year Auckland!

So hubby decided that he would take me out to dinner for New Years and he was actually going to book the restaurant, I just had to help him choose. There were a few restaurants that we wanted to try but we decided in the end to stay local so the walk home would be relatively easy. Actually there are a few restaurant's in Parnell that we wanted to try and we chose Iguacu as they were doing a special menu with entertainment. We booked our table for 8.30. In the end they were fully booked so just as well. We were seated in the quieter side of the restaurant it appeared by staff all dressed up in different costumes. The idea was to vote on your favourite to enter the prize draw for some freebies. Unfortunately we were not so lucky to win. Service at the start was a bit slow and stilted and they were obviously running at full hilt with everyone chipping in which was obvious as some staff was not dressed in costume. For me once we got our glass of bubbly and bottle of wine I was able to relax so whatever happened after that just happened. Actually after that things started running smoothly and we got our food in good time. The food itself tasted very good and there was no complaints about that. I heard the live music playing during our meal and said to hubby that we seemed to be away from the action until I went to the bathroom and realised that there was actually a dance floor and there were lots of people dancing. We laid low though until after bringing the New Year in with a rather expensive bottle of bubbly, which hubby popped right on time. Oh well you only live once and there will probably never be another new year in New Zealand. We ran outside to watch the fireworks on top of the sky tower
