Fly to New Zealand

Well i’ll Be a monkeys uncle. We checked our bags in and no fines for excess baggage. Wonders will never cease. Easy stay at the airport. Not too many people and comfortable seats so we did not use the privilege lounge. Movie and meal on the 3 hr trip to Kiw. my only observatio, and I certainly am not being an is, but the air New Zealand cabin crew looked nearer retirement age than me! Can’t complain about the service at all.

Because of all our luggage the taxis would not take us to the hotel so we got a white airport transfer bus for NZ$35. We now know that the yellow bus costs $2!

We had a beer and a meal. I had fish and mash in a mushroom sauce and Alex had a chicken satay and rice. Service was a bit slow.

8.30pm Steve “Burt” Mitchell tips up for a beer. Steve was one of the managers at the Ambon workshop at Barton Mills and has been here for a year. Swinging the lamp civie style. Loads of tips and hints. Top man mate. Still got his London accent.
