Isn't she a beauty
Kia Ora (Maori for hello), so after searching the papers for a few days, we found what we are hoping is a good deal. we got a 1988 subaru leone wagon. we were a little scared to buy it from the guy, he seemed a bit sketchy, at first the car would not start because he claimed the inside light was left on all night. so we jumped it and took it for a drive, that was the good part, everything seemed to work just fine. after the battery charged it started again with a bit of work. thats the only thing we are a bit worried about, but for 670 NZ$ we can't complain too much. although it was supposed to be 650 according to the paper we saw, but he claimed it was 699 because he put in a brand new tape deck, woohoo. (just one of his sketchy moments). However cars are required every year in New Zealand to pass a warrant of fitness, basically a large checklist must be met to prove the car is in working order and there can't be any rust, blah blah blah and this car just passed its warrant this week. Although the gas gauge seems to not work so hopefully we do not find ourselves stranded in the country side. other then that we are very happy with it, its big enough to hold all our ski equipment when we go skiing, and big enough to spend a few nights in to save on hotels/hostels. plus we may already have a buyer for it when we leave, one of the girls we are staying with may buy it from us because her current car may not pass its warrant of fitness next month. So thats about it for us, been a few lazy days because jeanette has picked up her first winter cold. However we will be going into Auckland tomorrow, and having a good time this weekend celebrating the queens birthday. As well we are buying tickets tomorrow for the All Blacks game against Ireland. The All Blacks are the New Zealand rugby team. Talk to everyone later...
