Little Plane
This is the plane where I spend the scariest 10 minutes of my life. .Tahiti Part 2
Hi everybody and sorry for the delay for Tahiti Part 2!
Part 2 of my trip in Tahiti. On Monday my father and I took the ferry to Papeete to join my twin who arrived the day before, and my mum. Had something to eat and then we went to the movie and see 'Bienvenue chez les ch'tis' obviously by the title a french one. It is the most popular French movie of the decade I think they sold 20 million tickets. It's about the Ch'tis; Ch'tis are from North of France so it's more about cliches and differences between Northern and Southern French People. Very funny movie though I was expecting a better movie I must say.
We went to a small Chinese temple as well, did you know there was a Chinese Community in Tahiti?? I didn't have a clue about that and Polynesians are very into religion too, there are churches everywhere.
Papeete is quite ok but dirty I liked the market.
Anyway after that we went back to the island of Moorea took again the ferry which I hated as I got seasick the longest hour of my life. Then back
home.
I am not going to tell in details as we basically did the same thing everyday: going to the beach and get a nice tan.
We went to what they call the Belvedere which is on the top of one of the hills on the island and we had a very nice of the island, as soon as we got off we were welcome by chickens I guess they thought we were going to feed them.
Anyway once thing I hated was the bloody mosquitos they were even worse than in the farm in Tatura never had so many mosquito bites !!!
I was surprised as well to realise there is no clear sky in Tahiti because of the mountains it can suddenly rain but it only lasts a few minuts. Moorea Island is quite nice but very small after a while I start to get bored but at least I was with my family. We celebrated my bday together no cake but a nice weather and some wine. Tasted the Tahitian Beer as well not bad at all but prefer Fosters.
We went to visit the Island of Tahiti for one day and we saw
some surfers, there was a surfing tournament going on and I tried to see if I could see Kelly Slater but he wasn't there unfornutanely! The beach where the tournament is held really sucks though, I thought it would be a long one but actually it is a very very small one!! V disappointed by that. On that day we went to a very small village which was in the middle of nowhere, it was beautiful though and the people were very nice, they drove us to the townhall to go to the loo so my mum took the opportunity to talk to the locals. A lovely village unfortunately for my parents there was no place to rent otherwise I bet they would have moved here. The rest of the island is quite wild one side is inhabited and the other is not, beaches are very nice though.
The nicest beach for me was at the bay of Opunuhue something like that... I think my twin prefered the one near the Sofitel Hotel, didn't quite like it as there are not many rocks so no fish to see. My fave fish would be the bright blue one which colors
change to green. Don't know the name of it but will try to get you a picture on the internet.
These two weeks went by very quickly and my twin and I left on the same day. Had the most terrifying 10 minuts of my life as we had to take the plane from Moorea to Papeete. The plane was very very small and I heard there had been a crash with the same type of plane at the same airport so was really happy to touch ground in Papeete I could have kissed it !!
Tahiti is a very nice island but not for everybody sounds a bit silly but don't go if you get easily bored as there are not so many tourists attractions but of course the beaches. Had a nice time over there and my first experience on the tropical island is not too bad but would I live in Tahiti?? Hell no!!! Polynesians are nice but bloody lazy and slow and there are not many things going on, sunsets are beautiful though.
That's it about Tahiti next entry: Wellington.
Take Care
