Bula!

Today we headed to Beachcomber Island for 2 nights via a very small water taxi that arrived over an hour late to pick us up - it was on Fiji time apparently! Everyone is very chilled out, makes a nice change : )
Arrived to a typical Fiji welcome and were greeted by a very camp Fijian guy called Clive along with cocktails. Some poor guys even carried our rucksacks for us : )
We were showed around the Island and then we checked in to our 84 bed dorm! Not too bad except I can't swing a cat around my bed - Not that I would obviously swing a cat around my bed - sorry Coleman gang!
Second best thing (first is lying on the beach) to this week in Fiji is that we have all our meals cooked for us - well that's what we thought at first until we started eating what we thought was Chicken Curry and turned out to be fish curry - not impressed at all : ( first time I've eaten fish in years after I was scarred as a young child (cheers dad!) other than that the food hasn't been too bad. Started drinking early afternoon, well what else can you do when you're on an island during stormy weather ; ) met a couple and a guy from England who we chilled out with for pretty much our all our time on Beachcomber. Spent the night learning how to play kings and arses (card game) which you will all be learning when we get home! Were dragged onto the dance floor to learn the Bula dance - a tradition on every island! Ended the night by trying the native drink Kava - wouldn't recommend it, tastes like dirty water - but when in rome....
