Australia (Perth to Ex-Mouth) 2/11/09 - 10/11/09

We landed in Perth at 1400 with Quantas and within no time we were sitting in our 4x4 sourced by Noel Joyce and Aoife McDermot. The plan was that we’d catch up with Noel and Aoife on the West coast in a few days. The Holden Jackaroo came complete with duvet, tent, ice box, bbq, pots and pans, GPS and camp chairs. We drove around Perth looking for accommodation. Next morning we bought supplies for the road and just drove around Perth. We drove sth along the coast and later ate in Freemantle, the classy part of town. Joined a noisy funny coulpe from England. Next day we were starting our road trip but first we had to buy spark plugs and an oil filter. We hit the road at 1300 and in no time we were in the out back. We were contending with 3-5 wagon road trains which we never saw or conceived before. We called into the Pinnacles which are weird limestone formations in Nambung National Park.. Later that evening we saw Kangaroos and Emus for the first time. We landed in Geraldton at 2200. They let us stay in the carpark at a campsite for free. We slept in the back of the Jackaroo
Next moring we had breakfast looking over the Indian Ocean typical of what was going to be routine over the coming weeks. We hammered on to Kalbarri National Park and saw the gorges. We drove onto Monkey Mia and met up with Noel and Aoife. Had the craic. Next morning we went down to the coast and saw and fed the dolphins.
The next few days we were making our way to Ex-mouth. We stayed in Coral bay which was excellent. We purchased snorkelling gear, pricey but worth it. Noel had bought fishing gear so that night we went fishing with a few beers. The bream were biting. Noel and myself both caught fish but I had to hold onto mine as the hook had caught itself deep in the throat. Catching a fish is one thing but to unskilled theres consequences, hilarious attempts at trying to kill, scale and gut. With a bit of salt and pepper it was very tasty though.
One of the nights we launched the cosmo burger on pebble beach, rocket lettuce and fried egg in the burger. We camped

So what's this mad of again?
lots in beach areas and road side stops under the stars rarely staying in paid campsites. We stayed in Ex-mouth exploring Cape Range gorge and we went scuba-diving on the Nigaloo reef getting disorientated and all getting lost on our 2nd dive!!!
