We decided to head to York and stop for an overnight stay at Avon Valley Park which was along the way. Using our 10 years out of date camp site book and a £30 Sat Nav we’d bought from Gumtree this was gonna be a g’day mate!! First drama... one hour from Perth we seen our first “Roo” close up.. very very close up!! Well I seen it - Phil was too busy tuning “Hits 666” on the radio. I screamed and Phil slammed on the brakes - we skidded across the road and nudged the Kangaroo, at least we know our Roo bars work K (No Kangroos were harmed in the making of this blog J (the old jokes are the best!)). After a spot of breakfast we decided to cut our losses and move on from Pinjarra. We headed back towards Perth and the first pit stop of the day was in Armadale. It was a nice enough place to visit but there was nothing standing out to warrant an overnight stay............nothing to see here people, move along. The weather was clearing and there was still unchartered territory around Perth that we had not yet conquered. We were making plans on the fly and started heading up into the Perth Hills and much like the Adelaide Hills it is a gorgeous drive. We arrived back in Perth on Monday, 15 September and spent the next week hunting camper trailers. We looked at a number of different new and used ones, but in the end settled on an Outback Deluxe model, which was very similar to the Cavalier model we had hired but suited our requirements slightly better. As well as hunting camper trailers, during the week we also made another trip to Fremantle and then Serpentine Falls. On Monday, 22 September we placed an order for a new camper trailer before heading up to York for three nights, staying at Rich's Cottage on the main street (Avon Tce).
