We rocked up on the doorstep of our friends from Darwin, now living in South Hedland. We are very lucky to have a comfortable home to stay in for a week. And it has been great catching up with Deb and her family.

From here we made a day trip out to Karratha, Point Sampson and Cossack, while we also visited the local sites, including the yacht club for dinner, Pretty Pool, and a tour of BHP Billiton. We also happened to be in town for the 'Staircase to the Moon' which occurs when the full moon is rising over the mud flats at low tide, so we grabbed some fish and chips from the nearby yacht club and ate them on the beach as the moon slowly rose on Saturday evening. Not a great photo, but the best we could do without a tripod.
