Table for Three
Tom after dinerCaroline sent me an e-mail to my work account advising me that one of our friends from the ACT 4wheel drive club had contacted her and said that he was in Perth for the week on business and would like to catch up with us and possibly have some dinner if we were available.
Of course we could find time to see someone who had made such an effort to make contact with us and of course it is always great to catch up with our old friends and 4wheel drive buddies.
The last time we had journeying friends in Perth was about 12 months ago, when Richard and Elaine Wdowik flew over from Canberra for a holiday, hired a motor home and dropped in to say hi and have a catch up over coffee. It was great to see them and of course catch up with all to “what’s happening” in Canberra and our old club and it was really great, we also looked on envious of their motor home and the adventure they were just embarking on.
So with Tom De Jong coming into town, we wanted to go somewhere decent and we made sure we

Andy, Elaine and Richardall would have a beer and something to eat, so we decided to meet at the Crown Casino were we knew you would always get a decent feed.
Tom was in town because of his work with Australia’s National Archives so we decided to meet at the Mesh bar at 6.30, that way neither of us would have far to go once we were fed and watered.
We had decided to try the Casino grill, we had not eaten there before and it seemed like a great option, with all the talking and laughing the wait for our dinners was really short, our food turned up and barely managed to break the conversation as we all talked about 4 wheel drive and other Australian adventures.
It was great to catch up with Tom, he is a follower of the blog and in fact when we first met Tom on a 4wheel drive club trip into the Brindabella’s, he came up to as and asked if were “KangarooJack”.
Tom was aware that Gypsy had now left our ownership and just like some of our friends sounded somewhat surprised at this, we knew that Gypsy had already arrived

Richard, Elaine and Carolinein Melbourne, she took 4 days to get there from Perth and yet it was going to be another week before she would get to Canberra. Bizarre that Perth is so remote and such a long way from Melbourne, yet the shortest part of the journey was to take the longest.
It was great to have such a relaxing evening and told tom that we would be back in New South Wales and the ACT in march 2015 and would possible have all our 4 wheel drive friends over to our favourite farm Woodstock, if it is OK with Robert and Helen.
The hand of time was ticking on, and it is a work night, so we could hear our beds calling, it was time to say goodnight and wait to see Tom again in March.
