Margaret river region
This is at the Grove distillery - It is huge, made from a cast iron I think, looks like it was made in the 1920's. Apparently it was imported from Malaysia (at great expense!) Here we are tonight in Margaret River. And sadly we have let the team down, we havent even had one wine yet!
BUT we did have a tasting of the most amazing chocolate liqueur at the Grove Experience just outside of Margaret River. We were recommended to visit this place and its fabulous! It started out as a winery then they specialised in beautiful liqueurs, and their own spirits. We tried the chocolate one, OMG it was superb!!!! The guy said you can eat it over icecream and wow I can just imagine that! We might have bought a bottle! His coffee liqueur is not for the faint hearted he said! Would have loved to get one of those too, but the budgets been pretty smashed so we better keep our heads down a bit! He was a great 'mein host' too and had me giggling!
So we left Perth fairly gently this morning, no big rush. Rob's not feeling fabulous today unfortunately. Nothing serious but just not firing on all 4 cylinders. I popped into the shopping centre to grab a few provisions while he gradually packed up the Bago. I spent a good 5 minutes looking at
every nook and cranny in the hire car, trying to find which button opens the fuel door! Why cant they make these things consistent?? It actually looked like the latch for the bonnet! Any hoo, dropped it back and felt happy to hop back into the passenger seat and off we went.
Its not as cold today and we were able to get back into shorts for most of the day. It wont last but we will hang on until we can't! Sadly though it's raining tonight, one of the reasons its that wee bit warmer...
So the drive to Margaret River was pretty uneventful. You'd swear you were driving in country Victoria, maybe the Yarra Valley. We only saw a little bit of Bunbury and Busselton but they seemed like lovely towns. Theres a funny little town called Cowarmup that has cows all throughout the town. All statues in crazy places! I was so busy laughung and looking I forgot to take many photos.
After we got to our digs in Margaret River town, Rob had a rest and I walked around the town having a quick look. We will venture out tomorrow a bit more

Beautiful landscape, would be an awesome wedding venue though. Its a very hilly town, very quaint, very wine region looking. And very pretty. We'll get a better look around tomorrow but so far so good!
Till tomorrow - think we are going caving! Woohoo!
