I could just imagine the Quarantine Officer at the airport say to me, “Excuse me sir! Do you have pigs ears?” To which I reply, “No mate it’s just the way this hat is sitting”. Whoo Hoo, We have booked our flights and we are heading over east on 26th March for two weeks firstly for a country wedding in Tarcutta for a lovely young couple who are starting out on their adventure of married life and we will be having the pleasure of staying at our spiritual home of…… yes you guessed it, Woodstock our favourite farm. So we will fly on the red eye from Perth to Sydney and then on to Wagga Wagga arriving in Wagga at 9.10 am in the morning and probably leaning on the kind nature of Helen to collect ... read more

Time to go home, 26th November 2014. The day had finally arrived 26th November and it was time for Gypsy to go, I had decided that I would deliver her to the Transport Company (Opelika’s Specialist Transport) in Maddington, as if I did we had control of the situation, that is we were not waiting around for the truck to arrive, nor having the great behemoth of a truck struggle to park etc in the space we had, so even though, it would be taking up my time and fuel I still thought it was the best option. I had worked this morning, gone home rested as directed then planned my jaunt across town to deliver the the camper, The afternoon was not very pleasant, it was dark and wet with storms promised, but it was ... read more

An Evening out with a Princess. I dutifully waited at the station yesterday afternoon to collect Caroline off the 5pm train, the station in Fremantle is just over the way from Berth F at the passenger terminal. When I parked the truck, it was 4.55 and Caroline’s train was just coming in, and as it was a really warm afternoon (the start of Summer time is only 2 days away now) I left the truck running and the air conditioning was set on cool. As I had driven through down the cappuccino strip in the centre of Fremantle, on the way to collect Caroline I had noticed just how many people were out and about in the town, walking around with shopping bags and the like and strangely they all appeared to be of a similar ... read more

Today, is our 6th Anniversary that we set foot in Australia, Don't be confused about our last blog, (Flying Time) that was six years to the day of when we left home, you may remember we had a few days in Singapore to get rid of jet lag before the final flight to Australia, so as I said, we rocked up in this new country wide eyed and looking for adventure. I have just looked at the blog entries and there isn't a blog for today (6 years Ago) but there is 2 dated 13/11/2008, one called little India, which just happens to be our biggest visited blog with 4210 hits and day 4/5 Brisbane, when we touched down in Brisbane, again dated 13/11 which is technically incorrect as it should be dated12/11/2008. Just for clarity, ... read more

Well things come and go in to our lives and back at Woodstock our favourite farm in New South Wales on the 12th of November 2012 (4 years to the day) on arriving in Australia we took delivery of Gypsy, which many of you have read in our blog (Code Name Gypsy- A Pozzie Apprenticeship 12/11/2012. When we purchased her from Vista RV in Melbourne we had been looking for nearly two years and once we had put a sizable deposit down we waited another 6 months for it to be manufactured and delivered. We always intended to keep it for a good while and had discussed that it would probably be around 10 years so, so felt she was an integral part of our adventures, as she had been loyally dragged on some of the ... read more

Flying Time. Does anyone remember this blog? Well it has been read 366 Times, who by? We do not have a clue!! Although we do know that we have some regular readers that will of course have read it. This blog was written at LHR (London Heathrow Airport), whilst waiting for our Singaporean Airlines A380 Airbus, exactly six years ago today. Is it by complete coincidence that they played at the Perth Arena last week? Wednesday to be exact when we were having dinner in town with friends. We were offered tickets at $500+ each, but when we equate that to how many tanks of diesel, we opted for the diesel. Longest farewell tour since the Rolling Stones Blog Number 14 The last couple of weeks have been fairly emotional as we have been ... read more

A little while ago we ran a 4Wheel drive club trip called Bush Cocktails and Camp Ovens at Harvey and during this trip we visited a little winery in Yarloop called Skipworth wines. We had such a good experience with the owner of this vineyard that we just had to tell our friends about it and go back. So we decided to run a half day trip to Yarloop so we could go to the winery and organised to meet the attending members of the Toyota Landcruiser Club at the Pinjarra Bakery as usual, which I think is always a good place to start a trip from someone had said we ought to get “Frequent Pie Eater points” for the times we have spent in this bakery. I was up at 5.00 am and had prepared ... read more

Thanks for reading my first travel blog. I hope you will find it interesting, and I'll try to post as many pics as I can so you can see where we've been.... Well, it's all coming together now - tickets booked, bags packed, money on the plastic, excitement is mounting - one more work event and we're off to South and Central America for 6 months of wandering and experiencing the amazing things that the continent has to offer. I've a lingering feeling I've forgotten something.... So, Wednesday it's Sydney to vist my mum and some old friends, Monday to Santiago, and Friday week - into Southern Pategonia. We commence in Punta Arenas on the Straits of Megellan, before busing north to Torres del Paine National Park, where we will trek and see the towers of ... read more

Hi travel followers. Here is our latest travel update from our Australian Adventures. Today we find ourselves at Fremantle / Western Australia after a couple of stops at Yanchep (3 days) and Perth (4 days). Our stop at Yanchep wasn't the greatest as the weather was atrocious and there wasn't a great deal to see in the local area. It was a good opportunity however to hit the shopping centres and restock with groceries etc. From Yanchep we moved the 60km short distance down the coast to Perth where we spent a day at the Royal Perth Show (got my dagwood dog fix) and then another day just walking around the city. While we were here we took the opportunity to catch up on an old friend (Gabby) partner Sean and lovely daughter Erin. We were ... read more
