Fremantle and Kings Park in Perth.

I have just arrived in Mandurah 60 km south of Perth but need to write up the last 2 days. As Suzanne would tell you it is obligatery to have a boat trip on our travels . So this was the first one this trip . Travelling to Fremantle on the Swan River by boat takes about 1 hour and the shores are lined with homes of the very rich. Fremantle was gentrified somewhat when the Americas Cup came here a few years ago and it is a lovely small city …with lots of character…having maintained many of its old ( well you know when I say old I mean old for Australia) buildings and some have those beautiful Victorian wrought iron balconies.
Of course there are lots of nice little shops and cafes and restos too and down by the harbour we had to sample the fish and chips. The only disappointing thing was an arts centre house in a lovely stone building but there was very little of interest there unless you like big sheets of plastic hung up with squiggles painted on . Back from Freo we took the train so defo full marks to Perth for its publice transport. Have you noticed me slipping into Aussie talk - any word possible in shortened and an "o" added...I am sure there is a conference paper in linguistics there for my friend Angela!!!
Got my nice little silver grey Getz renatl car and also an Aussie SIM have to manage 2 phones now... one suitcase has my clothes and the other one is full of appliances, chargers and other stuff. And the weather is forecast for colder ( its 30 deg and blue skies today) - so bought a jumper just in case 75% off... so only about £ some cheapo good stuff here.
Photos from Perth day 1 ... More to come of Freo.
