The Road AheadThe Road AheadThe Road Ahead

RFDS Landing on the Eyre Highway
When we were traveling from Kalgoorlie to Norseman, we stopped at a little place called Widgiemoolta, I hope that you will appreciate the photo of the old dunny!!!! However, I would not recommend using it! I must say that we stopped there for lunch and the roadhouse does a very good steak sandwich! But..Watch out for the friendly flies, they like steak sandwich as well…..

At the moment we are at Eucla and have stopped here for 2 nights, the weather is very bad and I am a little worst for wear having driven about 400 Km a day since leaving, it may not sound very much, but my arms are telling me that towing with a head wind is demanding, AND VERY TIRING

We have found that the cost of fuel was reasonable till Norseman, with the gas between
85 - 89 cent per litre, however if I had a word of advise to give it would be not to refill at Balledonia on the Eyre Highway (first petrol station on the Nullarbor after Norseman) as the unleaded was $1.85 /L and the gas was $1.15/L.

With a strong headwind, the consumption is down to 5 Km

a litre, not ideal. Fuel cost here at Eucla is $1.39 for unleaded and $1.07 for Gas.
The caravan park is void of luxuries, and there is no water available, except in the ablution block, and even then you know that you are in the desert when you have to put $1.00 in a machine to have a shower, but the water is nice and warm, a plus when you traveling. The shop is best bypassed, and one litre of milk is $3.50

A photo of a typical rest area is included in this report.
