First stop of our journey was to see the infamous Stromatolites. They didn't look like much but these 'things' were the origin of life on earth! They released oxygen into the atmosphere and eventually caused levels to rise high enough for other life forms to exist on earth. The world's oldest living thing, this was a quick stop on the way to Shark Bay, or on the way from Shark Bay, I cannae remember, anyway, does it really matter? These 'things' are fossilised micro-organisms, so stick that in your pipe and smoke it Dr Twiseltoes, you said that I'd never learn anything about Chemistry, shit maybe he's right, maybe this is bioligy? I've digressed again but the pain never leaves you, the pain of Dr Twiseltoes, my 2nd year Chemistry teacher that is. Let me explain. Wow, Coral Bay is a beautiful idyllic wee place, I love it, it's my favourite place in Australia! There is just one street, a campsite, hostel and small hotel and a lovely wee beach. We spent three days here enjoying the tranquillity and beauty and also making friends with some fish. We had swithered about going diving but you have to go on a 3-day course before and it's a little pricey so we went for the snorkelling option which was absolutely amazing. We were taken out to the Ningaloo Reef on a glass bottom boat so we got a sneaky peak of the wonders beneath before we took the plunge.
