It's stinking hot and about 23million percent humidity. That can only mean one thing - it's nearly the end of the year! As my excitement for a Perth summer of fun builds, I feel unbelievelby lucky to have had sun, surf (ok mud) and sea for the entire year. The October school holidays were no exception and the next few blog entries tell the tales behind my ongoing Kimberly adventures. Mia and Jarrad came to visit me and we saw more of this spectacularly beautiful country.

Late morning on Sunday October 2nd was when Mia and Jarrad's plane landed at Broome airport. After the usual hugs and general jumping/hand clapping we beelined it for Matso's, Cable Beach and Divers Tavern. I had sorted some backpacker accomodation and it was pretty crappy but we survived to tell the tale. First thing the next day we headed up the Dampier Peninsula, past the No Gas James Price Point Protestors to Beagle Bay. I realised a long held dream of mine, to see the pearl shell Catholic church and it was every bit as amazing as i had hoped. After a good poke around it was back in the car and onto the

sandy, red track that led us to Middle Lagoon camp grounds. Jarrad splurged and spolit us with a cabin. This put us right on top of the cliff face so we could see sunrise and sunset. No word can describe the beauty. Funnily enough, that night as we were tucked up in our swags we were woken with rain! It only lasted for about 4 minutes but we were so glad we were in a cabin!
After pancakes warmed on the 44 gallon bbq we packed up and said farewell to ML. An hour later we were ar One Arm Point talking turtle with the baby turles at their hatchery. We had lunch at Cooljamon - a fancypants place (which I will definitely go back to stay) before driving the 4 hours back to Derby!
We were pretty knackered by the time we got back, and we all agreed a shower was well deserved.
Wednesday was unofficially termed 'Derby Day' and we enjoyed being at home doing not much. Jarrad serviced my car and we did the usual guest circuit Prison Tree, Mowanjum, sunset drinks at the jetty and dinner at Jilla.
Thursday morning we left my place around 8 so we could drop Jarad at the Areodrome. He was Perth bound. Vegemite was once again safe from Jarrad's songs.
Mia and I spent another scorcer of a day inside watching dvds and planning the rest of her stay. We had the very first backyard areobics session and cranked up the new bbq for tea.

Danger!
Don't let him read the next one. It tells the Tunnel Creek truth.
