Day 5 – Saturday
This was a chilled and relaxed day, It was the Voting day for Australia, although I couldn’t vote I felt the atmosphere of the town coming together and getting to visit one of the schools in the area. We went around Nick’s our friends house where I got to play with his 7-month-old Labrador cross Border collie puppy, sitting outside throwing a ball what felt like for hours.
When we arrived back in Bunbury at Carla’s house we were great friends and helped hoover and clean out her car, due to there being more sand on the floor than at most of the beaches. Soon enough the car was a good as new again! Later that evening we got to enjoy a Dinner Party, Where I sat at the bar in their house drinking wine with Carla’s mum and her friends learning new things about Australia. I got to try my first piece of curry that was really yummy when it wasn’t burning my mouth. The dinner party was a great experience and hope I get to go to another in the near future.
Day 6 – Sunday
Started the morning
by going for a pleasant walk on the beach outside Carla’s house in Dalyellup, walking along the beach taking in the beautiful scenery and I come across some people fishing in the sea, next I find a 4x4 on the beach driving along, which isn’t a normal site when you come from England.
Heading back down to Busselton we went to a place called Castle Rock which is where we was able to climb on the rocks and I was taking some more productive photographs. Trying to get a photo from a new angle. On the way to our next stop we saw a fresh spring water stream, which was a bit cold to stand in but quite a beautiful place with a bridge surrounding it. Gannet Rock was another stop along the way where we just stopped long enough to get a couple more photos. We finally ended up at Canal Rocks, after adventuring and climbing over the broken bridge, we was there just in time for sunset. So I found myself a nice rock that I could use as a tripod to try and capture some slow shutter speeds. Some didn’t come out as well as I
wanted them, but I feel I captured one photo that personally could be my favourite landscape. This was a brilliant end to a perfect week.
Day 7 – Monday
The last day of our adventure we headed to this place called ‘The Cut’ which was a well-known place where you are most likely to see some wild dolphins. We stayed here for about an hour and we did see a couple although not as many as I was hoping. I assumed it was a little bit cold. On our way home we decided to go on a slight detour through this national park where we ended up at a place called Preston Beach, there wasn’t much there but it was a small little village, where they have wild kangaroos just chilling on the front lawn. Then we carried on our journey when we ended up back in Perth.
Overall this was a pretty amazing week, I feel like I have been able to explore and discover and see a bit more of what Australia is all about. This makes me a lot more excited for our next adventure in 3 weeks when
we travel to Exmouth and I will finally get to drive again, and experience Kayaking and Snorkeling on Ningaloo Reef. Watch This Space.
