Greetings from Broome
Hi everyone
After being out of contact for the past 10 days.. we are now back in communication (at least for a couple of days).
Our Gibb River Road adventure was absolutely amazing.. the experience of staying on the various properties/stations unforgettable. Each and everyone quite different... learning the history of each working station so interesting.. in many we were privileged to join the homestead for dinner...meeting so many different people.. the scenery almost “mind blowing”...in some cases the driveways in from the Gibb River Road being up to 90Kms... we have crossed many rivers and creeks... driven over the most unbelievable corrugations.. (lost 2 UHF radio ariels. A very expensive exercise) The largest river crossing being the Pentecost River which was a little bit scary, but we managed.
Whilst each property have their own attractions and appeal.. in our opinion El Questro still stands out as the most beautiful, different from our first visit in 2006. We camped down by the Pentecost River which passes through the property, we spent 3 magical days just relaxing.
There are so many stories we could tell of the wonderful people we have met... some of whom we have managed to

catch up with on more than one occasion along the way..
We are now in Broome... only wish we could spend more time here... weather is absolutely glorious .. around 31c.. and am still in short sleeves as we write this blog.. around 9.00pm. Tomorrow we head for Cape Leveque.. and will be out of touch for the next couple of days. (Again, you hear some rather scary stories as to the condition of the road, here’s hoping all will go well).
We have attached some photos... to give you some idea of what we have experienced.
Until next time..
Kath & Henry

Well done!
Terry has been talking about the challenge you faced in the crossing of the Pentecost River. We have a large map of Australia on the wall and are keeping track of your adventures and we have a picture of the Pentecost crossing from a 4x4 magazine stuck to the map. Keep safe with your adventures, but it sounds like help is never far away. Cold back here in Melbourne and windy at times. Terry is doing a senior coaching course on Sunday at Ballarat, 9am start, hope it is not frosty. All is OK in the street. Bye for now. Terry and Meg, Hood Street, North Balwyn.
