We leave Broome this morning to begin our long trek to Kununurra. We spent our last day stocking up on food as tonight we'll stay at Fitzroy Crossing where just a week ago the only store burnt down.

In the afternoon we went down to Cable Beach where I had a swim, watched the camel trains giving rides along the quiet end of the beach, sipped g&ts overlooking the beach, then had fish and chips while we watched the sunset - a great way to finish the day. We'll be sorry to leave Broome! I probably won't have reception till I reach Kununurra and I don't know how good it will be there.

Having already ridden a camel, once was enough so we just looked this time.

Down the 'camel' end of the beach. As high tide was expected a couple of hours later, they no doubt made a hasty exit then.
