Let Mel sleep in this morning - she woke at 8.05. We got her to school in time. I went home cleaned, vacuumed and washed floors then went to the canteen to get things up to date. Collected Mel after play and went home. Did last minute packing and tidying. We were ready early - said to Mel we can wait here or at the airport. Mel decided to wait at the airport. Dropped off Avon catalogues then went to surgery to collect mail - letter with THB480 from Dorothy Graeme for me or mum?
Drove to the airport. Couldn't believe the smell as you go through the tunnel in Melbourne. Commented to Mel about it. She cracked up laughing - it was her!
Easily found Jetport Parking. We changed out of our warm clothes and into summer ones. Got our stuff and caught bus to airport. We wondered aimlessly around for a while then asked Mel where the money from Dorothy was - on the back seat of the car!! Rang Jetport and they bought it out to us. Had Maccas at 5.30. Walked around the airport then went back to Maccas for a sundae and hot apple pie.
Peter rang just as I got the pie. By the time I hung up it was warm 😞 One minute later and Andy rang!! Cold apple pie!!
At 8.23 we went through the gates and walked around until we boarded. We found our seats - 50 J & K - window and aisle. Almost organised when we were moved to row 54. Got seats E, F & G as well as J & K (H & I are the aisle so no seats). We were able to spread out. They came around with drinks pretty soon after take-off then presented us with menu and a hot towel. I didn't think to order a kids meal so we both got shaved ham with pineapple, coleslaw, braised lamb with rosemary, diced potatoes, peas and broccoli, carrots, baguette roll, butter, cheese, crackers, lemon/lime brule tart.
Mel was eating a carrot when she sneezed - orange bits went EVERYWHERE. Over the tray, her top, her skirt and the blanket. It really was a lovely sight!! Luckily we had plenty of spare blankets from our other chairs!!!
We played with our TV's – all the games and movies and radio – it was amazing compared to when I
flew overseas last with the one TV screen on the cabin roof for everyone to watch – and no choice in the movie!! It's amazing – you can follow our planes path and all the details.

We have almost reached Singapore - make that flying over Indonesia, heading for the Celebes Sea.
I watched Ice Age 2 but kept getting interrupted by Mel or by me hitting the wrong button and fast forwarding the movie. Made Mel go and lie down in the middle chairs – she was not happy at all. She was up and down like a yo-yo. Finally she went to sleep and slept for a couple of hours. Now awake and lying down watching The Shaggy Dog.
