Where I ate (sorry, I mean sold) lots of frozen yoghurt...
It's been a while since I wrote in here. In some ways, since I've just been in the same place for 3 months, there isn't a lot to say, but at the same time, it's been a busy 3 months, getting right into the Aussie way of life! I've been working in a frozen yoghurt shop for 3 months, which sounds more interesting than it is, but since there weren't many customers, that left loooods of time for eating it myself!

On top of quite a few day trips around the local area, there's been plenty happening here. Some particular highlights...

Christmas - nowhere near as snowy and cold as it has been back home! We hoped for a bbq on the beach, but disposable bbqs don't exist here, and due to fire bans, you can't cook anywhere you like. So we cooked along the river at some permenant bbqs there. It was no roast dinner, but there was still far too much food and drink, even for the vegetarians among us ;-)

NEIGHBOURS! I couldn't come to Melbourne without visiting Ramsey Street and meeting Dr Karl Kennedy!

The tennis - Melbourne is home to the australian open, which is luckily much cheaper than wimbledom, and we even managed to get to see Murray in one of the outside courts on a cheapo ticket in one of the early rounds! After than (when the main tickets were far too expensive) we just sat in the main square in the city watching the matched on a big screen while the action took place half a mile away. The square is called Federation Square, or Fed Square (since the Australians shorted every other word), and obviously we couldn't let Federer take all the glory, so we've started calling it Andy Square!

And so, tomorrow I leave Melbourne... It'll be very sad to go - I've loved staying here... But I'm looking forward to getting back on the road again. First stop: Tasmania. Apparently it's very cold there, so it will make a change from the 30-45 degree heat we get here everyday!
