Cape Schanke
View at the top...before we walked WAY down the boardwalk to the water! Ok, so besides the fact that I still have avoided ALL assignments that I have due in the next two days...I have had a GREAT day for two reasons! First, our field trip today out to Cape Schanke for Biology: to view the corral, plants, and animals was amazing! I didn't really view much corral, plants or animals (any of the biology party) however, me and a few other students had fun taking tons of pictures of the beautiful ocean as it came crashing into the rock area we were climbing on and then even more fun swimming in this HUGE tidepool that was perfect for swimming! It was right next to the huge, crashing waves that kept coming in over us and I was proud of myself for ignoring the nasty seaweed that was all over! 😊 It was one of the funnest things I've done so far!
Second reason my day has been so exciting: I JUST NOW booked a flight to Fiji!!!!! I've said I wanted to go to Fiji since I think the first time I heard and saw a picture of Fiji (who hasnt?) and just an hour ago I was talking to a girl
Climbing
Climbing up the rock over the water! in our group and she said her and two other girls had booked a flight & reservations to Fiji one weekend while were in New Zealand...I looked up flights, did some budgeting and comparing of the US dollar that I have left to take to New Zealand and figured out what that would be worth in NZD and the difference ended up being about the same amount of my flight, so it's kind of like I lost no money! 😊 Also, it works out perfect because their was 3 girls and there's beds for 4!!
Here's where I will be staying in Fiji, from Feb. 14th thru Feb. 18th, check it out: http://www.smugglersbeachfiji.com/
Also, yesterday I enjoyed getting picked up from my school to go over to David & Lois Jenkins, more friends of Steve Ridgeways. I had a 3.5 hr. break between some classes so they picked me up and took me over to their house. I had fun getting out of the city and seeing the outer suburbs. We enjoyed afternoon tea and they made me a great chicken, avocado salad (so great not having the normal cafeteria food)! David and Lois have done tons of
Sequence #1
...waiting for the wave... traveling for his old business as well as when he was Chairmen of the Board for World Vision International. I had so much fun hearing about their travels and getting to know them a little bit, they were very sweet!! I mentioned to them that I was thinking about staying longer here in Australia or New Zealand if I could figure out getting a working visa and then a job...instantly he called up his friend who runs a Travel Australia company and knows all about getting people visas. This guy told me exactly what I would need to do so know I am just thinking and praying about that and seeing if that is something I want to do and can work out!? We'll see!
Anyways...I think I'm having too much fun!! 😊 😊 😊
Now, I'm really going to start my home work...
maybe.
