Gday all

Well after a rather restless night on the ferry we were woken up at about 5.40 by the announcement we would soon be in port and to get ready...ahhh we thought this is where being early for the line pays off...😞 except the mob that were first on decided their time was much more important than anyone else's and held up the entire vehicle deck 5 for a good 10 minutes (I am sure if they were much longer quite a few people would of been happy to lynch them.)

We finally got out and on to the West Gate Freeway to Geelong. We still needed a few supplies so we stopped at the Belmont KMart. Got what we needed and headed for the checkout and weren't we surprised they had self serve checkouts. So cool. You would think that KMart did this to cut staff and save money but no, the girl that we were talking to said they hadn't got rid of any staff. Apparently it still can't do a lot that people can do so everyone wins. 😊

Down the highway to Barwon Heads.

After a quick trip around town to show Jules where I used to live and go to school we stopped for a quick coffee with my mate Cap'n who I hadn't seen for about 18 years. After a good chat we made plans to meet for a beer at the pub later.

We left there then continued to look around The Heads...wow the main street had really changed in the 18 years since I'd been home.

We then booked in to the caravan park. A nice 1 BR unit with views across to Ocean Grove. Back to the main street and got some fish and chips for lunch which we took up to the bluff to eat. Very nice fish and chips too

After a nice walk around the bluff and a bit of a drive we went back to the room and had a bit of a rest before I went to meet Capn at the Pub.

Well whoever said you can't go home again never lived in Barwon Heads as I walked in the back door of the pub as usual and there was Capn, Ring, Doddo and Wayne and Carol Harvey pretty much in the same position as when I left 20 odd years ago...lol....pretty sad really but no it was just happenstance that we all were in town the same day.

Well that's about it for today...more tomorrow

A case of fiction becoming reality...if anyone saw Sea Change with Sigrid Thornton this is the bridge that was supposedly under repair which is now being repaired
