What a great way to arrive in Tassie, on board the Spirit of Tasmania. An exciting adventure for the girls especially as we were upat 5.30am down to Port Melbourne to board the ship. There were plenty of activities provided to entertain us for 10 hours, we managed to get in a couple of drinks in one of the many bars! Spent the night in Devonport then found a great campsite in the little seaside town of Penguin. We were camped right on the beach and stayed for three nights. From here we day tripped to Levens Canyon, very speccy, we walked into the canyon which included 697 steps, and visited the Wings Wildlife Park where the girls held baby wombats and baby Tassis devils. We visited a mate of my Uncles and it was an ... read more

Hello World! The Pitts made it to Tasmania! So here I am on day 3 in Tasmania sitting at the breakfast table in the kitchen in Ulverstone typing in our Travelblog. Day one of the adventure was driving to Cairns leaving by 7am in order to get to Cairns, achieve a couple of little goals and catch our flight Cairns to Sydney by Virgin Blue. No adventure here of course. A smooth and reasonably quick flight. Sitting in the airport at Sydney then catching the next flight Sydney to Hobart. First night was at the Argyle Motor Inn. Love it. We had a ‘cottage’ which is really half a converted house. We had 2 bedrooms, kitchenette, Lounge etc., Very spacious and comfortable. The people at the Motor Inn were also very nice and accommodating given ... read more

We are still @home and working our butt off. Going away for 5 weeks is a long time when you run your own business. You cannot just close shop and tell your customers "tough luck" no product because we are going away. So we have to pre-produce and also try to think of all possible imponderabilities that could occur while we are away. On the other hand you cannot foresee everything, but minimization is the call of the day. But we can see the bright light @ the end of the tunnel ('tunnel' that is all the stuff as we are getting closer to our departure date in 3 weeks time. ... read more

Our round trip Last week we got all our shots, almost all. All 4 limbs, I think I still hurt, but what I am told, it is supposed to be for a good cause, even for hoping cough the found an excuse: so my not even produced grand children won't get it. It better be good!! Anyhow, all or tickets are being booked, Cath & Andrew finally got their holidays approved and Barbs and I are working hard to satisfy the needs of our customers for the time we will be away. Alors, let's bring it on, another 4 weeks and we'll be off and away. So far I have been pretty laid back about it, but slowly and surely I am starting to get excited. ... read more

We booked our flights after some lengthy considerations. When can we go, where do we want to go on route? Yep, we are looking forward to see the kids, see how they live and see Doha, which the 'Lonely Planet' calls the dullest place on earth. Now we have to sort out the details. It is a lot of research and some hours on the net. Thank God we have Google . More soon... read more
