The Coaster had endured a rough day yesterday climbing and descending the mountains of Tasmania and we had noticed that the oil light had come on briefly on some of the steeper climbs. We decided to check the oil level and found that it was quite low, so our first stop was the Caltex Service Station in Sheffield. The operator was very helpful explaining that extreme driving can result in an increased usage of oil but that we shouldn't be concerned, as the service interval was almost due. We bought a litre of oil and poured it in to the filler and all seemed well so we had coffee at Bossimi's Bakehouse and set off for Launceston.

It was a steady trip back to Launceston and we had lunch at Brickfields Park, before making contact with Lenny's son, Andrew, and agreeing to meet in town. Andrew was pleased to see us after six months away from Tassie and loved the Normanton Show Bag that Georgi had for him. We chatted briefly and then it was back to work for Andrew and off to the East Coast for us.

provide Georgi with a few interesting and historical stories of the pioneers of this area. We got to St Marys and managed to take the road to Saint Patricks Head instead of the Elephant Pass Road but were soon on the right track. We had planned to stop at the Elephant Pass Pancake Barn for a late afternoon tea but they were closed early which was very disappointing. We had come a long way to visit this restaurant. We travelled to Bicheno for a late coffee instead and then further south to Mayfield Beach where we set up camp for the night.
