WILD TASMANIA...Narawntapu N.P. I don't know how she did it...but she did it. Denise has been trying for ages to persuade me to spend our annual break in the Apple Isle...now done...mighty glad we did. 70%!t(MISSING)he size of England...population about 500,000...now I understand why they want to keep it that way...has us seriously considering moving there. Like English countryside I'd heard. W... Read Full Entry

Wild Tasmania
I've been to Tasmania a couple of times now and absolutely love it, so will definitely be back for more, I haven't been West yet. It looks beautiful here at Narawntapu National Park. I know where I need to go to see a wombat! Ren also recommended Cradle Mountain for me to see wombats....either way it's back to Tasmania for sure. Looking forward to the next installment....Tassie is a very special place.

Wild Tasmania
You are so right Rachael...Tassie is a very special place. Amazes me it has taken me so long to visit. Denise has been before. Gotta be the friendliest place in OZ as well which never ceased to inspire us.

I should have gone with you!
Lovely Tasmania. I really shouldn't miss it next time I visit. Rookie and his family has been there and he professes it's his best adventure!

You would love Tasmania Lili. Everything is so close...yet so diverse. Also an amazing place for photography as will be apparent in my Tassie blogs. Enjoy.

No argument from me Jo. I just change the music and do what I'm told! My artistic side will be revealed as we travel around Tassie...an angle on this trip I really enjoyed.

Wombats.....
It looks amazing and so much wildlife, can I swap the Mammoth for a Wombat?

Wombats -v- Mammoth
The wildlife is abundant in TassieJo. Possibly because it is a sparsely populated island...possibly because there are numerous National Parks. There's only one Mammoth but heaps of wombats...question answered!

WOMBAT WILDLAND

Wild for wombats!
Excellent wildlife, especially those unique to Oz. I recently saw a wombat on facebook and have been in love with them since. The pandemelon, which I've never heard of, is pretty adorable too. Gorgeous trees too--what a find! Happy camping!

WOMBAT WILDLAND

Wild for wombats!
Wombats just get on with their business Tara...pretty well not phased by any onlookers. The pademelons were numerous but nervous. They hopped but when in a hurry scurried using all four paws. I can't remember seeing any in the wild on the continent of OZ so the island that is Tarmania is their perfect locale.

Tasmania
We loved our time in Tasmania. Wish we could have gone back while you were there. Looks like you had a grand time.

Tasmania
Indeed MJ. Funny how those from far away often know one's backyard better than locals. Nice pic selection. As you can see I was taken by the reflections and colours in the flooded forests in Narawntapu NP.

WOMBAT WILDLAND

too cute!
this is the first time I've seen a photo of a Wombat. I wonder why they are not as popular as Kangaroos and Koalas when people think Australian animals

WOMBAT WILDLAND

too cute!
Lovely to hear from you Harold. The wombat is like a little tank of muscle...not the sort of critter you'd want to hit with a car. They live in burrows (the holes in my pics) and it is often said...eats roots and leaves!

Nice photo
Thanks Ake...or was it Emma? This pic inspired me to take a number of tree canopy shots as we travelled Tasmania as well as a number of deviations from my better known style which will be apparent in my next blog. Thanks for commenting.
