26th December 2012,

Departed the Big 4 at Devonport and was excited to explore Tassie for the first time. We were amazed at how close each town is compared to towns in Western Australia. Eventhough we have not been there yet, somehow Tasmania remains me of England (from pictures anyway!). The next town down was Latrobe, where we stoped at the chocolate factory and had the most scrumptious chocolate, and the fudge was amazing!!! Next stop was the Raspberry farm, which had the most picturesque view. After tasting the decadent chocolate covered raspberries, we visited the Cherry Shed, which was equally as yummy. Of course, I felt in my element as I love food and wine tasting. The last food tasting for the day was the Cheese Factory. We tasted some beautiful brie and cheddar, I especially loved the lavender infused brie. We drove on to Mersey National Park and camped at a magnificent campspot along the dam. The water was crystal clear and the air was bitterly cold at a mere 13 degrees, but the view was awesome.
