Yeah!!! It’s Sasha’s 14
th birthday today. We are so very proud of her. Very early start as we needed to check into the port by 6am. This meant, breakfast at McDonalds on the way. Luckily, the apartment was only 5 minutes away from the port. After a long wait, we finally boarded but did not depart until after 9.30am. The Spirit of Tasmania is a nice ship, but it was rather boring. There was very little entertainment and the theatre was very small. Thank god we booked a 4 berth cabin and after lunch, we slept the rest of the trip.
We arrived in Devonport about 6.30pm and managed to disembark by 7.30pm. We drove straight to the Big 4 Caravan Park (which we pre-booked online) and checked in. We left Taylor at the park and drove into town, where we located Valentino’s Family Restaurant. We celebrated Sasha’s birthday with some delicious Italian cuisine and a Tiramisu cake. The staff was very friendly and the food was great. Highly recommended to anyone visiting Devonport in the near future.
We slept in on Christmas Eve and managed to get into town for lunch. We did

Two hours later, we finally board the Spirit of Tasmania a bit of grocery shopping and found the prices here very affordable. So, we splurged a little and bought some fresh seafood for Christmas lunch and dinner. Back to the Big 4, Daniel threw some steak, lamb and sausages on the BBQ for dinner. Very cool evening, so out came the spare blankets.
Santa stopped by and left some presents under our little Christmas tree. The girls were really excited to open their gifts. Christmas was very relaxing as we munched on seafood, fresh fruit and drank bubblies all day.
