Bruny Island
On board the ferry to Bruny Island 4
thJanuary 2013.
We decided to do the Huon Trail today, which involved a visit to Bruny Island and a drive to the southern point of Tasmania. Our first stop was Bruny Island Smoke House, where we sample some yummy smoked salmon and trout. There was a smoked Wallaby to sample, to which we did but it was not to our liking. We headed north on Bruny Island, where we had lunch and there was some nice views to be seen. However, the main attractions seem to be on the southern side where there was a cheese factory, an oyster farm, a berry farm and a chocolate factory. Coupled with the beautiful sceneries when driving between these attractions, Bruny Island was worth a visit. In the afternoon, we ventured back to the main island and headed south towards Cockle Creek. Along the way, we saw more amazing views. Upon arriving at Cockle Creek, we had the feeling of joy and accomplishment. It was getting late, so we headed home and stopped at Southport Tavern for dinner but the kitchen closed at 8pm. We moved on and stopped for some woodfire pizza in Huonville, which was really yum. We continued back to

Daniel and the girls at the Smoke House in Bruny Island. our camp site via Mount Wellington, which gave us a fantastic view of Hobart at night. On the other hand, we could also see the bushfires in the distance and prayed that everyone is safe.
