Next stop was Merna Mora Station. We had camped here many years ago in their campground near the main road. It was pretty primitive. This time we decided to go further in where there was obviously a higher standard of site.

Not only was there power, but also water. We were in seventh Heaven! We had thought that after Peterborough we would probably not have a water connection again until we got to Whyalla. Any shower is a good shower but camping showers rate pretty lowly.

This was a delightful location. 12 powered sites to connect to, chooks to entertain you, a campfire (with wood supplied) to share with others, happy friendly campers … including some of those lost CoVid refugees hanging around until it is safe to return home interstate or looking for a new place to call home. There was a basic camp kitchen, many places to walk and explore, plus stunning views of the rugged Flinders Ranges.

We wanted to see a stunning sunset on the range, but were treated to a mere light up. Conditions just weren’t quite right on this day. Not to worry … we will be back and we are sure we will see it one day.
