8-4-10 Thursday Happy Birthday Chrissy, Well off again today, the weather is sunny & hot. We stop in at Arno Bay, Port Gibbon, where we were going to stay at a free spot , but it was not very nice. We pushed on & stopped at Cowell, what a pretty little town. We had lunch at a café & had a walk down the main street. We went onto Whyalla & through the town & went 38 kms north to Fitzgerald Bay Bush Camp. 553 in camps book. It has toilets , water & garbage bins. By this time it was cool & 3.30pm & we had travelled 330 km today, we set up camp & were nearly carried away by fly’s, so out came the fly spray & Tony even put his fly net on. We settled in for tea. We went to bed & we had a big thunder storm & the wind was blowing a gale. We thought we were going to loose our awning, but we still had it when we woke up. 9-4-10 Friday We went into Whyalla today to do the washing at the Laundromat ($2 per load, cool) , then we went to the info centre & did some shopping, & then we went down to the foreshore, it was lovely. We then went to Hummock Hill where we got a 360deg view of Whyalla & the Steel Works. Reminded me of Wollongong. By this time it was cloudy & we went back to camp to get the washing dry. We had a late lunch & put the groceries away, then it was time for happy hour, we had a sausage sizzle & then Den watched Footy & Tony & Cheryl watched Arial Ping Pong on their TV. I had an early night. No wind today, about 24 deg.
