Arrived at the meeting place near the Inman Valley hall early on a sunday morning (27/9/2009), I was feeling unwell which hadnt improved by the time the buses dropped the walkers at the trail head on Tugwell Rd. The walk was mainly through pleasant farm land with the odd hill along the way and intermitant rain. The highlight of the walk came after a steep climb through a farmers paddock, we emerged on Hancock Rd not far from the historical ruined old church and graveyard. From here it was about 5 kilometres through Second Valley Forest and along the main road to Inman Valley. The walk was pleasant and very taxing but the weather could have been better. Introduction Today's walk was a stunning one and a memorable one - the Yulti Conservation Park. This walk was chosen by Peter and was planned to be three and half an hour walk along the Heysen Trail near Myponga (found in George Driscoll’s book). The Heysen trail itself is beautiful and I would recommend people visit this park if they are in the area allowing about two hours to traverse the park and return. The views are spectacular: to the west you will see the Myponga reservoir and the ocean, and on a clear day, Kangaroo Island. You will need proper walking shoes as the slopes are steep and slippery in parts. I would say children would need to be reasonably fit - about eight to ten years old would be okay.
